Denver Days

God is a God of the details. One of the items on my Baby Preparation To-Do List was to find someone to watch Sophie when I went into labor. We don't have family in the area, and no one was planning on being here for the birth. This was stressing me out!! We had never left Sophie overnight before and the only people who have ever watched her are my parents and the Coopers (love you guys!). Thankfully we have wonderful neighbors (past and present) who offered to watch her for us. That meant so much to me. Really. The fact that they would take time out of their life and care for my little one at a moments notice. Not everyone is willing to do that. Knowing that Sophie would be in good hands while we had to be away put my mind at ease.

By this point you are probably wondering what in the world this has to do with Denver Days (it really is connected, kind of).

Well, we found out that Grandpa and Grandma C would be in Charlotte the Friday before Baby Boy's due date. Although I didn't think he would be here until after his due date, I agreed that since they would be in the area, it would be a good thing to have Grandma C around just in case we needed her. So after Gymboree that morning, Soph and I met them at Chick-Fil-A, and Grandpa C dropped Grandma C off with us. In search of something to do that evening, we decided Denver Days was the place to be. Soph had a blast, and I met a few Lake Norman Mommies. I even won Soph a bike from the Fire and Safety booth! We ate our first fried pickles with ranch dressing, and fried Oreos. Yummy! Soph was only tall enough to ride two of the rides, but she loved every second of it.

Getting a ladybug painted on her hand. She was so enamored with it that she smeared the paint before it could dry. She just had to touch it!

We met Daddy there since he was working.

Riding the carousel with Mommy.

She LOVED it.

Just barely made it!

Riding with Daddy.

She is a thrill-seeker.

The Duck Pond was always my favorite game.

She won a cow!

Grandma C trying her hand at this game.

She won Soph a ball.

The Dart-Master.

She won a Precious Moments Kitty.

She LOVED the fried pickles but didn't like the Ranch dressing on her hand. She shook her hand trying to get the dressing off and flung Ranch on Grandma and Mommy!

Daddy's trailer at Denver Days.

One last ride before we left.
