Update on the Baby Room

With less than one week until my due date, I was dying to get the baby's room semi-complete. At this point, I'm really uncomfortable and just want to know whether this baby is a boy or a girl. Even Ellie seems to know it's a baby, and not a puppy (concluded during a non-scientific experiment). We are pre-registered at CMC-Main, the bags are packed, we have a boy outfit and a girl outfit, and the car seat is installed. I think we're ready, maybe.

I completed my first major sewing project - the crib skirt. I added a border and pleats. It did turn out better than I expected. Definitely a learning experience.

Although I put pleats on all four sides, of course the only ones that can be seen are these. Oh, well. We'll have to pin up the sides when it comes time to lower the mattress. Like I said, a learning experience.

Here is the bed as you would see it coming into the room.

The changing table/dresser finally arrived! After a long day at work, my wonderful husband came home and hung pictures without me asking. I'll be painting the little table once I know whether we'll be accenting in pink or blue.

I love this little lamp shade!

We just had to get the baby their very own Elly (not to be confused with Ellie).

Life around here should be pretty interesting within the next couple of weeks, make that months, well, probably the whole year. Ellie thinks that everything is her toy. We have to keep Elly in the crib for now because Ellie wants to play with her. I'm sure there will be plenty of stories to tell.

The process...

Ron said there was too much pink in the fabric for it to be neutral, so I added a brown border along the bottom.

Sewing the border onto the fabric. I'm thinking, "What did I get myself into?"

My "helper" puppy who wouldn't leave my side.

The border is on. Now to figure out the pleat...

Nursery - A Work In Progress...

It seems that my check list for what needs to be accomplished before Baby C arrives keeps growing and growing. There are so many little things that we still need. I know that everything will come together, but it still stresses me out a little. One thing that I can check off the list is Painted Nursery. Of course we're having a baby during a busy time in the pizza business. Most weeks consist of 7 days full of store visits, meetings, store tours, administrative duties, etc. Somewhere during week my wonderful husband found time to paint the nursery (I think he started really late Sunday night).

So, what do you think?

Of course we haven't chosen bedding yet. I tend to lean towards the girly bedding (mainly pink and green, go figure). I'm having a hard time finding bedding for a boy. Here are some of the sets I like:

Looking at bedding and clothing make me want to know whether this little one is a boy or a girl now. But overall I'm still glad it will be a surprise. I'm hoping it will give me more motivation during the delivery. Until then we can only speculate. What do you think? Is the baby a boy or a girl?
